Award winning care at Southdowns Nursing Home

Congratulations to Jean Reeves-Yates the Manager at Southdowns Nursing Home in St Leonards-on-Sea and to all of the staff and residents for winning the very first Observer Care Home of the Year Award 2020. It is a fantastic achievement and worthy recognition for a wonderful team effort.
An article published in the Hastings Observer on 3rd April details a value statement created by staff, residents and relatives, in that 'we care about each other, not just for each other' which really does makes Southdowns a truly happy, caring and family focused place to live and work.
Residents are encouraged to take part in all aspects of daily life at Southdowns, to keep occupied, but more importantly, to feel valued and in doing so, they too have become part of this winning formula.
Winning the award gave the team a welcome excuse to celebrate together and was a wonderful boost to morale in the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and countrywide lockdown restrictions.
